We had beautiful calm weather for our River Stewardship Camp this past summer. Sunny skies, calm waters, water play, and Bighorn Sheep sightings were some of the highlights of this trip. We started our adventure at Lees Ferry with a NPS education program learning about what fish are in this stretch of river and about what kind of practices help to best care for the local fish population. Then we got a ride upriver with Kayak Horseshoe Bend, who gave us a half price nonprofit rate for the backhaul.
Thank You Kayak Horseshoe Bend!!
We got dropped off near the dam and floated downriver to our campsite at Ferry Swale. The next morning, we continued downriver to Lees Ferry, stopping along the way to play on the beaches. We will be offering a Youth River Stewardship Camping Adventure again next summer, if you are interested.
A special thanks to LissyAnn Barnes who was one of the camp mentors
and our river camp photographer!! Great photos!!
